Equipment

  • Ice cream maker (Optional)
  • Blender or Whisk
  • Mixing bowl
  • Airtight Container (for freezing)
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 480 ml Milk (dairy or non-dairy, like almond or oat milk)
  • 1 cup 240 ml Heavy Cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup 60 g Protein Powder (your choice of flavor)
  • 2 tbsp 30 ml Sweetener (honey, maple syrup, stevia, etc.)
  • 1 tsp 5 ml Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp 1 g Salt

Optional Mix-ins:

  • Chocolate chips nuts, fruit, or peanut butter

Instructions

Prepare the Base:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the protein powder with milk (and heavy cream if using). Whisk or blend until smooth, ensuring the protein powder dissolves completely. Stir in the sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt.

Chill the Mixture:

  • Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour. This helps the ingredients blend together more effectively and improves texture.

Churn the Ice Cream:

  • If you have an ice cream maker, pour the chilled mixture into it and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. This typically takes about 20-30 minutes.

Add Mix-ins (Optional):

  • Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, fold in any mix-ins like chocolate chips, crushed nuts, or fruit.

Freeze:

  • Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place it in the freezer for 2-3 hours, or until it reaches your desired firmness.

Serve:

  • Once frozen, scoop the ice cream into bowls or cones. Enjoy immediately or store it in the freezer for later.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based protein powder and non-dairy milk like almond or coconut milk.
  • You can add sweeteners according to your taste. If you prefer less sweetness, adjust the amount of sweetener.
  • Feel free to customize the flavor by adding flavored protein powder or mix-ins such as chocolate chips, fruit, or nut butter for extra taste and texture.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can freeze the mixture in a shallow dish, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals until the ice cream becomes smooth and firm.
