Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Meat thermometer
  • 1 Tongs
  • 1 Sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Prepare the Chicken

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels to remove excess moisture, ensuring even seasoning and cooking.

Step 3: Season the Chicken

  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Coat the chicken breasts evenly with the seasoning mixture on both sides.

Step 4: Arrange on the Baking Sheet

  • Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them to allow even cooking.

Step 5: Bake the Chicken

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.

Step 6: Rest the Chicken

  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Step 7: Serve and Enjoy

  • Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides, or use it in salads, wraps, and sandwiches.

Notes

  • To prevent dryness, use a meat thermometer and remove the chicken once it reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • If the chicken breasts are thick, consider pounding them to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • For added flavor and tenderness, marinate the chicken for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat gently in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes or in the microwave with a damp paper towel to retain moisture.
