Equipment

  • 1 Large Pitcher (1.5 - 2 liters) – For mixing the sangria
  • 1 Knife – To slice the fruits
  • 1 Cutting Board – For preparing the fruits
  • 1 Stirring Spoon – For mixing the sangria ingredients
  • 1 Measuring Cup (¼ cup) – For measuring the liqueur
  • 1 Citrus Juicer (optional) – To extract juice from citrus if you prefer
  • 1 Strainer (optional) – If you want to remove the fruit pulp before serving

Ingredients

  • 750 ml – White wine Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Chardonnay
  • 1 – Orange sliced
  • 1 – Lemon sliced
  • 1/2 cup – Mixed berries strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
  • 1/4 cup – Orange liqueur Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier
  • 2-4 tbsp – Simple syrup or sweetener to taste
  • 1 cup – Club soda or lemon-lime soda
  • Ice cubes – For serving

Instructions

Prepare the Fruits:

  • Slice the orange and lemon into thin rounds or wedges, removing any seeds. Wash the mixed berries and set aside.

Mix the Base:

  • In a large pitcher, pour in the white wine and add the orange liqueur. Stir well to combine.

Add the Fruits:

  • Drop the citrus slices and berries into the pitcher with the wine mixture. Stir gently to mix the fruit with the wine.

Sweeten the Sangria:

  • Add simple syrup, starting with 2 tablespoons, and stir. Taste the sangria and add more syrup if you'd like it sweeter.

Chill:

  • Cover the pitcher and place it in the fridge to chill for at least 2-4 hours, or ideally overnight. This allows the flavors to infuse.

Add Bubbles and Serve:

  • Just before serving, pour in the club soda or lemon-lime soda to add fizz. Stir gently and serve over ice in glasses.

Garnish (Optional):

  • Garnish with extra fruit slices or fresh mint for a more festive look.

Notes

  • Wine Selection: Choose a dry white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio to avoid making the sangria too sweet.
  • Fruit Variations: Feel free to add other fruits like sliced apples, peaches, or pineapples for a unique twist.
  • Adjust Sweetness: The sweetness of your sangria depends on the fruit and sweetener. Taste and adjust accordingly. If you prefer a less sweet version, opt for club soda instead of lemon-lime soda.
  • Make in Advance: This sangria tastes even better after sitting for a few hours or overnight. The longer it chills, the more the fruit soaks in the flavors, enhancing the overall taste.
  • Non-Alcoholic Version: To make this sangria alcohol-free, replace the wine with white grape juice and omit the liqueur. You can still use the fruit and soda for a refreshing mocktail.
