Instructions
 

Heat the Milk and Cream:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine whole milk and heavy cream.
    Warm over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Heat until steam begins to rise, but avoid letting it boil.

Mix Cocoa and Sugar:

  • Whisk in cocoa powder and sugar until fully dissolved, making sure there are no lumps.

Add Chocolate Chips (Optional):

  • For an extra rich and creamy texture, stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth.

Simmer:

  • Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Keep the heat low to prevent the milk from scalding.

Add Vanilla Extract:

  • Remove the saucepan from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract.
