Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 Medium Mixing Bowl
  • Electric hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Rubber spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Cookie scoop (optional for even sizing)
  • Wire cooling rack

Ingredients

For the Oreo Cookies:

  • 1 cup 226 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup 200 g granulated sugar
  • ½ cup 100 g brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup 85 g Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 15 Oreo cookies crushed (for the dough)

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 oz 226 g cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup 113 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups 240 g powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

For Garnish:

  • 6 –8 Oreo cookies finely crushed

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2: Make the Cookie Dough

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies gently with a spatula.

Step 3: Shape & Bake the Cookies

  • Scoop large portions of dough (about ¼ cup per cookie) and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Slightly flatten each dough ball with your hand for even baking.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 4: Prepare the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • In a clean bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until incorporated, then increase to medium-high until fluffy.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

Step 5: Frost & Garnish

  • Once the cookies are completely cool, pipe or spread a generous layer of cream cheese frosting on each one.
  • Sprinkle the finely crushed Oreo crumbs over the frosting for that signature Crumbl look.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead: You can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 48 hours before baking.
  • For Extra Crunch: Add mini chocolate chips or chunks of Oreos on top before baking for added texture.
  • Flavor Twist: Swap regular Oreos with flavored varieties like Golden Oreos or Mint Oreos for a fun twist.
  • Frosting Alternative: If cream cheese frosting isn’t your thing, try a simple chocolate ganache or a vanilla glaze.
  • Serving Suggestion: For the ultimate indulgence, serve warm cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
