Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large Bananas peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Whole milk
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts chopped
  • Pinch of salt

Optional:

  • 1/2 teaspoon Banana extract for enhanced flavor

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Bananas
  • Peel and slice the bananas. Spread the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze them for 3-4 hours or overnight until they are solid.

Make the Base

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.

Blend the Bananas

  • Once the bananas are frozen, add them to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add the milk and cream mixture, blending until fully combined into a creamy base.

Add Chocolate and Walnuts

  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

Freeze

  • Transfer the mixture into an airtight container and cover tightly. Freeze for 4 hours or overnight until firm and scoopable.

Serve

  • Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften before serving. Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

  • Texture Tip: For a creamier texture, mix the ice cream halfway through freezing. If you don't have an ice cream machine, you can also stir it every hour for the first 3 hours.
  • Banana Tip: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and creamier your ice cream will be. Choose bananas with plenty of brown spots for optimal flavor.
  • No-Churn Version: If you prefer the no-churn method, simply skip the ice cream machine steps and use the whipped cream method as described earlier in the recipe.
